East Beat journeys into the music of East and South East Asia and the diasporas, focusing largely, although not exclusively, on the more experimental electronic side of things. Below are some of the things I’ve done as part of this project.
Workshops – Arts-Council funded workshop on Vietnamese song organised by me in collaboration with DINA (April 2022).
Performances – live experimental electronica from CHINABOT’s Neogeodesia, Jaeho Hwang, and Ayankoko. Loz Futon and I hosted this event at Hatch. There was pizza. And noise. (May 2024).
Radio shows – twelve month residency on Liverpool’s Melodic Distraction. The show archive is accessible here. I have also created radio shows for Hong Kong Community Radio (Hong Kong), 5/8 radio (Moscow), Hanoi Community Radio (Vietnam).
